At Sacramento State, our Doctor of Physical Therapy program and REACH Clinic exemplify excellence in healthcare education while serving our diverse community. For nearly three decades, we've prepared skilled healthcare professionals who make a lasting impact across California. Will you join us in supporting the next generation of physical therapists?
Excellence in Action: Our Physical Therapy Program
Our Doctor of Physical Therapy program stands out as a leader in healthcare education. Students gain hands-on experience through six pro bono clinics, working directly with community members while learning from experienced faculty. This practical experience, combined with our interprofessional approach, prepares students to deliver exceptional care to patients from all backgrounds.
The results speak for themselves: our graduates achieve a 100% pass rate on national licensing exams and 100% employment rate. More importantly, these talented professionals choose to stay in California, strengthening healthcare access throughout our communities.
REACH Clinic: Breaking Down Barriers to Care
The Regional, Equitable, Accessible, Community Health (REACH) Clinic brings physical therapy services directly to those who need them most. This student-run clinic serves community members regardless of their insurance status, making quality care accessible to all.
Under faculty supervision, our students work alongside community healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care. The clinic also offers valuable opportunities for students to work with interpreters and use modern medical documentation systems, ensuring they're prepared to serve our diverse region.
While our program delivers outstanding results, many talented students face financial barriers to completing their education. The nine-semester doctoral program, including 36 weeks of clinical training, represents a significant investment in their future.
