Connecting Learning to Real-World Experience
Internships & Experiential Learning connects academic knowledge with real-world experience, helping students develop professional skills, gain career clarity, and strengthen community impact through immersive, hands-on opportunities. As a University priority, this work expands internships and experiential learning across disciplines — aligning education with workforce and community needs and ensuring students can apply their learning beyond the classroom. Together, these efforts build confidence, adaptability, and readiness for professional and civic life, supporting long-term success after graduation.
GAIN Fund
The GAIN Fund removes financial barriers that can limit student participation in internships and experiential learning opportunities. By supporting costs such as transportation, professional attire, and unpaid placements, the GAIN Fund expands equitable access to career-connected experiences across Sacramento State.
Investment in the GAIN Fund ensures more students can engage in applied learning opportunities that strengthen persistence, improve employment outcomes, and support success after graduation.
