At Sacramento State, we are proud to be the oldest nationally accredited program of Recreation Administration in the CSU System. Our concentrations include Recreation and Park Management, Recreation Therapy, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. We also offer certificates in event planning, natural resources administration, outdoor adventure administration and non-profit administration. At over 160 students, our Recreation Therapy program is one of the largest in the western US. For almost 65 years, our program has been graduating our leaders in community and outdoor recreation management, event planning, non-profit agencies and so much more. Our programs provide students with exciting, broad-based curricula that include both stimulating in-class coursework and practical out-of-class field experience.
Last year the way we teach in our programs changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to live through this pandemic we have settled into this modified way of educating, but are eager to return face-to-face experiences. Our students’ education has and will always be our top priority, and the department has been working to help all students during this challenging time. Students’ lives and way of learning has changed, and supporting the Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration’s general fund will help our students thrive. We need your support. This fund allows the department chair to allocate funds to the greatest needs in the Department—and during these times those needs are focused on our students. Your support can directly and immediately help our students’ educational experience. Thank you in advance for your support.
