Since its inception, the Physical Therapy Department has been dedicated to the success and professional development of all students so that they are prepared to provide excellent care to the diverse communities they serve. Over the years, Sacramento State’s physical therapy graduates have been destined for jobs in their choice of practice setting. Our program is one of the few to use a state-of-the-art simulation lab to educate physical therapy students, along with nursing students, in caring for and responding to emergencies with patients in an acute-care environment. Finally, Sacramento State was the first California State University campus to receive the requisite authorization to offer an independent Doctorate in Physical Therapy program.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our program and our students have had to adapt to a new way of learning. There have been changes in clinical placement sites, minimal face-to-face activity, and most course were moved to a virtual setting. This shift has been challenging for our students but the Department of Physical Therapy will persevere and is committed to helping our students be successful during this time of adversity.
Please consider supporting the Department of Physical Therapy Scholarship Fund. The financial cost of this doctoral program is sometimes the biggest burden for our students. This scholarship fund is available for all of our DPT students to apply and would benefit those in need of a scholarship to help cover tuition cost. Please donate to this fund or any other funds within the Department of Physical Therapy. Thank you in advance for your support.
