Sacramento State is the hub for many community activities, yet the campus lacks an indoor modular seating arena to accommodate lectures or ceremonies, sporting events and competitions, concerts and other large-attendance gatherings.
Sacramento State’s Strategic and Master Plans call for a thoughtful solution: the construction of an Event Center, a central campus arena that will serve as a hub for athletic, entertainment and academic activities. To catalyze the process to seek approval for the project from the California State University, dedicated funds must be committed in support of the facility.
The Power of 1,000 Hornets is a campaign in support of a Sacramento State Event Center, with a goal of raising over $1 million from 1,000 dedicated Hornets who make a gift of $1,140 or more - there is still room for YOU! An Event Center will benefit the entire student body at Sacramento State, our community, and the greater Sacramento region. We need your help to be successful! An Event Center will host job fairs, commencement ceremonies, indoor sports competitions, conference tournaments, and much more!
