The College of Continuing Education offers two youth programs every summer to expose students to an education at Sacramento State.
Summer Academies empower high school students to explore educational and career opportunities in various fields, experience a college campus, learn from Sacramento State faculty and professionals in different fields, all while working with other students on real-world projects. Many high school students who wish to attend Summer Academies are unable to pay for course fees or materials. Scholarship support for underprivileged youth will provide greater access to students who would otherwise be unable to participate in these enrichment programs
Academic Talent Search has offered summer classes on the Sacramento State campus since 1982. Over the past 39 years, more than 47,500 young learners have gained early exposure to college life through Academic Talent Search. Students preview the college experience by choosing their own classes in areas that interest them, meet new friends from around Northern California who share their enthusiasm for learning, remain academically engaged over the summer and gain exposure to potential majors and career paths.
Many youth who wish to participate in Academic Talent Search are unable to pay for course fees or materials. Scholarship support for underprivileged youth provides greater access and inclusivity for all students.
