The College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) is rapidly gaining recognition as California’s employer destination for workforce leaders in engineering, computer science, and construction management. The impact of ECS’s work is manifested in the number of career-ready graduates produced by ECS. Within six months of graduation, 85% of graduates secure a fulltime job in their major field, and graduates from the Department of Construction Management have experienced 100% job placement for nearly a decade. Serving nearly 5,000 students with life-changing learning experiences, and presiding over $7M in annual contract and grant expenditures with the office of Water Programs, ECS is On the Rise!
With a focus on both teaching methodology and curricular content, teaching effectiveness is a strategic priority for all five of our departments. Therefore, we are seeking your help to advance these efforts by empowering the college and departments to more effectively support student organization operations, faculty research dissemination, new course development, lab upgrades, teaching methodology innovations, and endowments – all of which help solidify our positon as California’s employer destination for leaders in engineering, computer science, and construction management.
In addition to advancing the efforts stated above, we are focusing on providing support to the ECS Student Success Center for our student tutors to be equipped to offer virtual services. Due to COVID-19, all instruction is now virtual, which has increased our students’ needs for tutoring services. Our ECS Student Success Center is dedicated to continuing to provide free tutoring virtually. All funds raised during Give Sac State Day for Student Success will be used to provide technology resources for our student tutors who avail their services to the entire College.
If you are able, we invite you to make a gift today to ECS Student Success or one of the departments or programs listed below!
