Why we need your support
For more than 65 years, the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, formerly known as the department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, has remained committed to providing the community with exceptional speech, language, and hearing services through our on-campus clinic, the Maryjane Rees Language, Speech, and Hearing Center (MRLSHC). How you can help
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders encourages gifts to the following funds, but with the ever-increasing need for philanthropic support, a gift to any department or program is greatly appreciated.
Maryjane Reese Language, Speech & Hearing Center
The Center is now funded by voluntary donations only made by clients and community members, which allows us to broaden our reach into the community, making our clinical services accessible to all.
Money donated directly supports the training of our graduate clinicians and the services we provide to our community members. Associated costs include the purchase of standardized testing materials, protocols, clinic supplies and therapy materials, and items needed to implement home programs for our clients.
Donations are appreciated in any amount. The following levels identify how donations support our clinical services:
$800 - covers costs of providing therapy for one academic year for one client
$400 - covers costs of providing therapy for one semester for one client
$200 - covers costs of providing therapy for half a semester for one client
$75 - covers the cost of a speech and language, or hearing evaluation
