Established in 1996, SSIS serves our students and the community through teaching, scholarship, and service. We also act as a window between the University and the community through our experiential learning programs, center programs, internships, and student and faculty outreach.
Our programming emphasizes critical thinking, writing skills, applications of information technology, research skills, addressing public policy problems, and issues of ethics and social justice. We try to highlight social, political, and economic issues of interest to a student population living in the Sacramento region. We believe that the University experience should be a part of rather than apart from the world that students and faculty inhabit.
