At Sacramento State, we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of environmental stewardship. Our University serves the capital region of California and is a national leader in the development of sustainability policies. In our pursuit of sustainability, we are dedicated to exploring opportunities and new initiatives for innovation and collaboration.

Institutions of higher education are places where scientific advancements are made and solutions to global problems are realized. Climate change is one of the greatest issues facing our planet. Therefore, as one of the largest campuses within the California State University system, we have an obligation to not only reduce our environmental impact, but also to create an environment where sustainability becomes so engrained in our culture that it is not just what we do, but who we are.
