As an “anchor institution” in Sacramento, our public performance spaces need to reflect our commitment to connecting our students, faculty, and staff with the community as we build relationships, understanding, and empathy. Such experiences help foster creative solutions for long-term problems and inequities. The University Theatre serves hundreds of Sacramento State students, as well as the community. It is not only a performance venue, it serves as a classroom, lab space, ceremony space, lecture hall as well as a site for community youth conferences, trainings, and ceremonial gatherings. By sponsoring a seat, you are providing a better experience for everyone!
A University Theatre seat, inscribed with your name, a loved one’s name, your business, or in memoriam, creates a lasting legacy. Enter your preferred recognition name (approximately 20 characters) in the open comments section when you check out. When you have completed check out, a receipt will be sent which includes a link and instructions on how to select your seat.

How many seats are available?
The University Theatre seats 420.
Can I choose my seat?
Yes, you may choose your seat. Once you have confirmed payment, a link will be sent to you within your receipt. Please click on the link and follow instructions to select your seat online. Following Give Day reconciliation, all donors who’ve contributed will be contacted to confirm seat selection and recognition naming.
How long will my donor plate remain on the seat?
Your donor plate will remain on the seat throughout the lifetime of the chair.
Will the seat I sponsor become my seat for shows?
No. Seating for University Theatre performances are on first-come, first-served basis and your sponsorship does not guarantee that you can sit in your seat when attending a show.

You can make a donation of any amount to support the Department of Theatre and Dance when you click “Give Now”.
