Dr. Jenni Murphy serves as Dean for the College of Continuing Education (CCE). She is committed to the development and delivery of programs that meet the ever-changing and diverse needs of learners and employers in the region.
“For many adult learners, returning to college to complete a degree or certificate feels impossible. We are aware of the many barriers our adult learners face and we have specific resources to help when the challenge of barriers prevents access and success. Sacramento State’s College of Continuing Education is excited by the possibilities that exist for adult learners and we are committed to supporting our adult learners each step of the way.” - Dr. Jenni Murphy
Dean Murphy’s Innovation Fund supports adult learners and creates unique programs including:
Emergency assistance for adult learners – provide financial support when unexpected situations arise that prevent an adult learner from continuing their education (housing, transportation, family support, health, natural disaster, etc.).
Near completer outreach – help adults in our community return to college and finish their degree. Provide outreach about degree completion programs to get adults across the finish line and improve their earning potential, economic contribution and personal sense of pride.
HornetAttain! – develop curriculum, pilot programing, train achievement advisors, convene collaborations, and design toolkits to shrink the wage and educational attainment gap by helping adults finish their degree at Sacramento State.
Build responsive programming - innovate within CCE to meet the demands of employers, create new certificates, supply equipment, and advance opportunities for adults in our community.
Advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Efforts – provide speakers, trainings, workshops and activities to support CCE’s DEIB efforts, further creating an environment of inclusion and belonging for learners and employees.
Your contribution to the Dean’s Innovation Fund provides CCE with the tools necessary to meet the needs of our unique learners.
Gifts of $500 or more to the Dean’s Innovation Fund grant the donor entry into the Dean’s Circle.
