BUILDING A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR STUDENTS AND PLACER COUNTY
There comes a moment in a region’s history when a community has a chance to do something extraordinary. For Placer County, that extraordinary moment has arrived through the future Sacramento State Placer Center. This planned campus will break ground in just a few short years and will expand access to a four-year degree and deliver a new model in higher education through a collaboration with Sierra College, which plans to build a transfer center on the Placer Center. With goals for dual-enrollment and a system of seamless support, students will complete their community college studies and transfer to Sacramento State without having to change campuses. Your gift to the Placer Center today will support students and the region now and for generations to come in three key ways:
- Transform Lives.
- The Placer Center will expand public four-year college degree to students in Placer County and surrounding areas - transforming lives by reducing costs for students and time to degree, while improving student success.
- Seize Opportunity.
- The population in the Placer region has grown on average 40% every decade since the 1950’s, with residents facing the burden of long, daily commutes to pursue higher education outside the county. The Placer Center meets the needs of the growing community by fostering education where thousands of students and faculty already reside.
- Build a Bright Future.
- The Placer Center will foster a strong workforce by focusing on academic areas with high-demand professions in the region, such as:
- Teacher Education
- Environmental Sciences
- Forest Health
- Criminal Justice
- Policy and Government
- Health Care and Social Services
- Business
- Hospitality and Tourism
Now is the Time. We invite you to give today and become a partner of the Placer Center.
