You want to support students.
When you give to the Community Engagement Center (CEC) Endowment Fund, you are supporting CEC’s ability to connect Sacramento State students to many under-resourced populations in our region. Through Jumpstart and Writing Partners, university students are helping pre-school or middle-school students, respectively, improve their literacy and social-emotional skills, while also providing personalized attention, support and affirmation.
You want to support the community.
Through Alternative Spring Break, students are directly engaged at community sites and work on projects that will have positive impacts for years to come. Partners in 2023 included Safe Harbor, The Food Literacy Center, and Sacramento State Sustainability (campus gardens). Semester-of-Service and Day-of-Service events bring together volunteers from across the campus community to help with many community events and projects. Partners in 2022-2023 included the River City Food Bank, Soil Born Farms, and Josh's Heart.
You want to support faculty and staff.
Our Faculty/Professional Learning Communities prepare faculty and staff to meaningfully guide their students through Service Learning courses, Academic Internships, and other types of community-engaged learning. Programs like Network Café and the Hornet Community Bus Tour bring folks together for learning, networking, collaborating and resource sharing.
Contributing today helps support this vital work and ensures that the Community Engagement Center continues to provide opportunities for meaningful and mutually-beneficial community engagement and learning.
