Sacramento State's Computer Science Department is one of the oldest and largest computer science programs in the CSU system.
The Department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in Computer Science. Our programs also enable individuals with background in other areas to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to enter and/or advance in employment in computer-related industries.
The Computer Science Department also houses the Center for Information Assurance and Security which is a designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. This designation is sponsored by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security to centers meeting stringent criteria. The mission of the center is to advance knowledge of information assurance and security practices through, education, training, applied research, and community outreach.
