Sacramento State’s StingerStudio is a hands-on, collaborative learning environment where students of all backgrounds can engage in making. More than a science lab, design or art room, or virtual reality lab, this is the ultimate versatile space for students to come together, explore ideas, and make things happen.
StingerStudio encourages students to develop new skills, solve complex problems, and discover real-world solutions for our future. StingerStudio provides students with experiences and connections that prepare them for careers in the knowledge-driven economy. This learning environment is one of inquiry, imagination, and experimentation. Here students develop positive learning traits like initiative, flexibility, persistence and collaboration.
This is how we prepare our students for the rapidly changing work of the 21st century.
What better place to have such a space than within the University Library—the intellectual center of campus. The Library is where students gather to explore ideas and create their most fantastic future; StingerStudio sparks curiosity and exploration of ideas, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge.
“We think of libraries as being in the book business, but in reality, libraries are in the business of thinking, learning, and doing.”
– Dean Amy Kautzman
