The Sacramento State Guardian Scholars Program (GSP) is a comprehensive support program for students who are current and former foster youth, unaccompanied minors, and homeless youth. We also support students who were adopted, orphaned, emancipated, and ward of the court.
GSP offers a welcoming and inclusive space for students to build community, access academic and personal support services to achieve their academic goals, and professional development. GSP provides a wide range of services to help students through their educational journey at Sac State, such as case management, academic advising, mentoring, career advising, priority registration, emergency funding, internship opportunities, and most importantly, a sense of belonging.
With your donation, you can assist our GSP students in many ways. Donations directly impact our students, like providing food to address food insecurities, assistance paying for out-of-pocket medical expenses, transportation costs due to emergency reasons; graduation fees; school supplies; GRE and LSAT test fees, and their very own Sac State graduation regalia.
When the program can offer resources, you are playing a role in furthering their academic and professional growth to propel them in obtaining the skills necessary to become self-supporting, role models, community leaders, and competent professionals in their selected fields.
The Guardian Scholars Program is funded by the generous donations we receive from our community members and current donors. If it were not for our donors, our program would not be able to support our students through their education and financial crisis.
